There were 603,000 students in Armenia 20 years ago. There are now 370,000 students in total,  Shirazi Vard and if we exclude 5-year-olds and 11- and 12-year-olds, there are 300,000 children. Former MP Aram Manukyan stated this during a hearing on "Education Reforms, Upcoming Strategic Challenges" initiated by the Standing Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport initiated by the National Assembly today.

He noted that during those years the number of pupils had been  Shirazi Vard reduced almost twice. “Twenty years ago the number of teachers was 62,000. Only 31,200 were registered last year. By the way, the number of graduates was 58 thousand and it has grown to 25 thousand, ”Manukyan said, adding that 20 years ago there were 24 children per 1000 inhabitants of Armenia, and now that number  Shirazi Vard has been reduced twice.
